Cream-spotted Ichneumon (Echthromorpha intricatoria). These wasps don't sting and are harmless to humans. OM-1 + M.Zuiko ED 300mm IS Pro.

Wow - exceptionally crisp and clear image, Des!,

Getting ready for the new season, I guess I'd best process last year's photos. Show me your insects - Page 450 (33)

Another Andrena bee on Virginia Waterleaf - a great spring plant which is slowly spreading in our yard.

Wow - exceptionally crisp and clear image, Des!,

Thanks very much Peter. I have to say that focus bracketing/stacking is a great feature for macro and pseudo-macro where DOF is so thin. I'd love to see Pentax introduce it in some form, even if they don't go to the extent of in-camera stacking. While the in-camera stacking in the OM-1 is good and very convenient, processing the images and stacking with Zerene Stacker gives a better result. And it's a snack to use.

Side views are best, but this "security" shot was all I could get.

Who knew wasps could be so striking? Orchid Dupe Wasp (Lissopimpla excelsa), so named because males pollinate a particular orchid (Crypostylis leptochila) by trying to mate with the flowers. OM-1 + M.Zuiko 40-140 f2.8 Pro + MC-14 TC.

Great shot, Des.

Been a while since I spotted one of those. I think this is the same bug - taken April 2020!

Thanks Peter. That's a nice shot, with a setting and clean background. The angle you got shows more of the body markings.

Old images, because it's too soon for insects to be out and I'm not sure I can get out to photograph them.

I do not recall posting my own insect pics here before, and have taken a few shots recently. Most of these are probably cross- posts, but whatever........

If you did post them elsewhere, I either don't remember or did not see them. In any case, a fine group.

A couple or true bugs (Hemipera or Heteropters, whichever name you prefer). One out in the open, the other hiding in a Queen Anne's Lace that is starting to open.
